Since the mid 1980s European Structural Funds have been delivering life changing regeneration to the people of staffordshire. Over £100 million has been channelled to tackle the social and economic dislocation caused by the collapse of the county's old industrial base - coal mines, pot banks and steel forges.
In just 20 years we have seen a transformation - with the grime and dereliction replaced by a new wave of creative energy and high tech innovation. New industries and employment opportunities are generating a bright future.
It's all about creating change and a sustainable and prosperous fuutre for the people of Staffordshire:

- Transforming derelict land into fertile fields of business growth
- And most importantly - bringing new skills, opportunities and jobs.
The latest injection of European Objective 2 and 3 funding, 2000 - 2006, is bringing in excess of £50 million on tap for yet more long-term life changing growth to Staffordshire, and by bringing business and the community together the Staffordshire Sub Regional Group is driving the pace of change.
The Partnership has benefited from the unflagging support of the Government Office for the West Midlands, the regional Development Agency and Advantage West Midlands.
